Blushed Strawberry Lemonade Ice

Blushed Strawberry Lemonade Ice

Sun blazing, ice clinking, and something gloriously pink in hand—this is summer done properly. Our Frozen Strawberry Lemonade is a bright, slushy swirl of ripe strawberries and sharp, sunlit lemon, blitzed into a glass of pure, frosted joy.

It’s the kind of drink you reach for when the day feels a little too warm and a little too slow—somewhere between a treat and a tiny escape. Think soft, icy crystals, a hit of sweetness, and that zingy citrus edge that keeps you coming back for another sip.

Whether you’re stretched out in the garden, hosting something low-key and lovely, or just craving a moment of cool indulgence, this is your answer. Sweet, tart, and unapologetically refreshing—it’s summer, captured and poured over ice.

Oh absolutely—this is where things get a little more interesting.

Can I add booze?

Fancy turning your frozen strawberry lemonade into something a bit more grown-up? Easy. Keep a fresh, fruity batch for the kids, then give the adults their own cheeky upgrade.

Simply swap out some (or all—no judgement here) of the water for a splash of your favourite spirit. Vodka keeps things crisp and clean, strawberry or lemon vodka doubles down on the flavour, while rum adds a soft sweetness and tequila brings a little sunshiney kick.

Blend it all up until icy and irresistible, pour into chilled glasses, and suddenly your innocent summer slushie has turned into the life of the garden party.

Sweet, sharp, and just the right amount of mischievous. Cheers to that.

Subsitute the strawberries

Strawberries are lovely, but they’re by no means the only star of the show. Swap them out for frozen blueberries and you’ll get a deeper, slightly richer flavour (and that gorgeous colour too). Mixed berries work beautifully as well—easy, vibrant, and always a safe bet if your freezer’s already stocked.

Honestly, anything that plays nicely with lemon is fair game. Raspberries bring a sharper edge, mango leans more tropical and smooth, and even peaches can turn it into something a little softer and sunnier.

The best part? There’s no wrong answer here. Grab what you’ve got, give it a blitz, and see what happens—you might just land on your new favourite.

Ingredients

This is the kind of recipe that feels almost too easy—but that’s exactly the charm of it. Five ingredients, barely any effort, and you’re moments away from something cold, bright, and wildly refreshing.

Chances are, you’ve already got everything you need tucked away in your kitchen or freezer. No fancy extras, no complicated steps—just simple ingredients doing their thing.

Here’s what goes into it:

  • Fresh lemon juice (for that sharp, sunlit zing)

  • Sugar (just enough to balance things out)

  • Frozen strawberries (sweet, icy, and ready to blitz)

  • Ice (for that perfect slushy texture)

  • A drop of yellow food colouring (optional, but adds that extra glow)

That’s it. Minimal effort, maximum payoff—and dangerously easy to make again and again.

Method

Making Frozen Strawberry Lemonade

If the ingredient list felt effortless, this part is even better. There’s no real “method” to master—just tip everything into a blender, give it a good blitz, and watch it turn into that perfectly icy, blush-pink slush.

No stirring, no simmering, no fuss. Just pour, pulse, and you’re there. It’s the kind of recipe that feels almost too easy for how good it turns out—bright, frosty, and instantly refreshing.

Serving the Slushies

Serving is just as relaxed. Grab a glass, add a straw, and you’re good to go.

If you’re feeling a little extra, a slice of lemon on the rim and a strawberry perched on top never hurt anyone—it gives it that effortless “I’ve got my life together” look. But honestly, the real magic is in that first icy sip: sweet, sharp, and completely thirst-quenching.

Simple, playful, and dangerously easy to make again the moment your glass is empty.

Helpful Tips

This recipe will happily make anywhere from two to four drinks, depending on how generous you’re feeling with your glasses.

Got a little leftover? Lucky you. Just pop it in the freezer and let it slowly soften in the fridge when you’re ready for round two—it comes right back to life, icy, bright, and just as refreshing as the first pour.

Blushed Strawberry Lemonade Ice

Sun high, ice clinking, and something gloriously frosty in hand—this is summer at its best.

Our Frozen Strawberry Lemonade is a bright, slushy blend of ripe strawberries and zesty lemon, blitzed into a glass of pure, icy bliss. Sweet, sharp, and irresistibly refreshing, it’s the kind of drink that instantly cools you down and lifts the whole mood. One sip in, and you’ll wonder how you ever did summer without it.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 0 minutes
Servings: 4 drinks
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 180 ml fresh lemon juice (roughly 4 lemons, give or take)
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 drops yellow food colouring (optional, for that extra glow)
  • 2 1/2 cups ice divided
  • 225 g frozen strawberries (fresh works too—just add a little extra ice to keep that frosty texture)

Method

  1. Add the strawberries and ½ cup of ice to a blender and blitz until smooth and slushy. If it’s looking a little thick, loosen it with a splash of water and give it another quick pulse.
  2. Spoon or pour the strawberry layer evenly into your serving glasses—this is your vibrant base.
  3. Give the blender a quick rinse.
  4. Add the lemon juice, sugar, food colouring (if using), and the remaining ice. If you’re making the grown-up version, this is your moment to add a splash of something spirited.
  5. Blend again until smooth, icy, and beautifully pale and frothy.
  6. Pour the lemonade layer over the strawberry base for that perfect two-tone finish.
  7. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a slice of lemon, then serve immediately.

Notes

Got a little leftover? Lucky you. Just pop it in the freezer and let it slowly soften in the fridge when you’re ready for round two—it comes right back to life, icy, bright, and just as refreshing as the first pour.
