Ingredients

For the Base
  • 2 cups milk — choose as you please from whole to oat or almond, depending on the finish you prefer
  • 1 cup white chocolate finely chopped — opt for a good-quality bar for a smoother, more refined melt
For Depth & Balance
  • 2 tablespoons matcha — culinary grade for a gentle, earthy character and soft green hue
  • 1 –2 tablespoons honey — added to taste bringing a mellow, natural sweetness
To Finish
  • Toasted marshmallows — lightly caramelised with a kitchen torch for a golden edge and soft centre

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan — for gentle, even heating
  • Whisk — to blend until smooth and lightly aerated
  • Kitchen torch — for a softly caramelised finish, if using marshmallows

Method

  1. Warm the milk gently in a saucepan over a medium heat until just steaming, stirring from time to time to keep it smooth and prevent a skin from forming. Remove from the heat and add the finely chopped white chocolate, stirring steadily until it melts into a glossy, seamless mixture.
  2. Sift in the matcha along with the honey, then whisk with a little energy until fully incorporated—smooth, vibrant, and free from any clumps. Continue whisking briefly, or use a handheld frother, to introduce a light, airy foam.
  3. Pour into your favourite cups, filling them generously, and finish with a few toasted marshmallows if you like—soft, golden, and gently melting into the surface.

Notes

Serve at once while it’s at its most silky and inviting. Adjust the sweetness to suit your taste, and lean on good-quality ingredients to bring out the very best in every cup.
